unheard-of cruelties / crudeltà inaudite

ATLANTIC una storia vera:
La fabbrica italiana di giocattoli produttrice delle serie di figure  militari di tutti i tempi chiuse i battenti negli anni '80. Gli stampi originali furono in parte acquistati da un imprenditore  iracheno che intendeva distribuirli nel proprio paese. A causa dell'invasione del Kuwait, che portò poi alla prima Guerra del Golfo, l'invio venne bloccato al confine e gli stampi rispediti a Milano. Da lì vennero mandati in Giordania e per alcuni anni se ne persero le tracce. In un momento di tregua arrivarono per vie traverse a destinazione, ma la fabbrica, con la seconda invasione dell’Iraq fu distrutta da un bombardamento e dei soldatini, finiti per caso in una guerra vera, non si seppe più nulla...
 
La composizione avanza, accompagna, attraversa l'evento con una propria strategia musicale e lo spartito risulta essere un vero e proprio campo di battaglia. Musiche per "intonarumori" (ricostruzioni dai disegni originali di Luigi Russolo), laptop e rumore digitale, composte da Gianluca Codeghini con il contributo dal vivo di Dario Bellini che ha curato la regia video.

Le campionature sono avvenute il 5 gennaio 2007 presso il Mart. Gli strumenti utilizzati sono in parte di proprietà del museo e altri di proprietà del prof. Pietro Verardo che è anche colui che li ha materialmente costruiti sui disegni originali e gli appunti di Russolo e Piatti. La performance è stata registrata nell'auditorium del Mart il 24 gennaio 2007 e successivamente editata nello studio Ciak Videoproduzioni di Brescia.
 

ATLANTIC true story:
The italian toys factory that produced all the military figures af  all the times closed in the eighties. The original casts were partly bough by an Iraqi entrepreneur who wanted to distribute them in his country. Due to the Kuwait invasion that led to the 1st Gulf War the shipping was stopped at the border and sent back to Milan. From there the casts were sent to Jordan and their traces were then lost. Probably they arrived to destination through cross ways. But the factory was destroyed soon by a bombing, and nothing is left to know of the toy soldiers involved by chance in a real war.
 
The composition improves, escorts, crosses the event with an own musical strategy, and the score becomes a real battle field. Music composed by Gianluca Codeghini with the live participation of Dario Bellini at the “intonarumori” (reconstructions from the original drawings of Luigi Russolo), laptop and digitalnoise. Dario Bellini has directed the video.

The samplings are were made 5 January 2007 at the Mart. The instruments used are partly owned by the museum and other property of prof. Pietro Verardo which is also the one who has built practically on the original drawings and notes of Russolo and Piatti. The performance was recorded in the auditorium of the Tuesday January 24 2007 and editing in the studio Video Ciak of Brescia.
